thx man, but I guess most ppl here aren't into old school pokemon. But this really is about the fun and exciting discovery of fighting trainers that are otherwise impossible to meet, and with a difficulty much higher than any pokemon game ever (the level 200's come to mind). Not to mention strange glitch pokemon with unknown properties, battling those are always a surprise

Haven't you watched 2012(film)? In the case of a REAL apocalypse, no one will tell you and all the world leaders and rich fatcats will secretly meet up in the himalayas with their secret space shuttles prepared and ready to flee, leaving the common peeps to their fate

The 'moving light' section was actually a wrong path, so to speak. Progression of mod is unrelated to that section at all.
I played paranoia years ago already. It's not entirely a horror mod, especially since there's loud ROCK music everywhere. I remember it having very limited ammo and how the terrorists are so hard to hit even with iron sights. Also I played it back when I was using WON, so switching to OpenGL was a pain too (good thing I wasn't playing on Steam, or I woulda gotten VACBANNED)

What was with this shooter? I didn't see any profiling of him in the article.
Anyway guns are a huge part of American culture, like alcohol. Banning alcohol simply didn't work at all in the US because ppl sold it over the counter anyway. Banning guns won't work because when the mentally disturbed individuals want to go on a rampage, They will go on a rampage. You can't stop them because you won't know when, how, or why they do it. I mean, in America, some guy not getting a job is enough reason to shoot the president, so there's really no way to detect or prevent any person from doing something strange like that.
Based on so many recent sprees, I have been on wikipedia to try and understand why these rampage killers do these things. I'm sorry, there is no understanding their way of thinking. There was this guy who has killed tens of ppl and havent got caught, then one day while driving he just suddenly decides to get off his car, in broad daylight, to shoot this elderly guy mowing his lawn. There were many witnesses and he was caught very quickly. This stuff NEVER makes sense.

Of course it doesn't have to be limited to grunts, this will work on any enemy, even little cockroaches! (Not really there might be loads of stuck in wall errors)
I just dont have that many different models or ideas to use this with. And certainly having 50 different reskins in the mod doing slightly different things is kind of boring since they are still the same enemy.

I dont have a consistent HECU zombie soldier model But if I did I'd SO MAKE IT GO MARTYRDOM. (Drops a live grenade on death)
I'd take any ideas for special soldiers you'd have, with models that can fill the role hopefully.
The point of this mod was only because I have no mappers for the MAIN mod I'm making, so that this little mod can let you play half life and any other mods while giving you a fresh experience due to the surprise factors. If you'd want a randomized enemies placement, try the map trigger happy 2.5 (on planetphillip), and marvel at its mapping involving extensive randomised triggers.

Cry of Fear takes place in a nighttime deserted city, with a mix of indoor and outdoor environments. A very late section of the game takes place in broad daylight in a suburban street.
Anyway, I am curious, how can a normal bright outdoor daylight location be scary and be classified as horror? Are you hoping for some sort of surrealistic occurrence? Or is it something else? Not sure how that works.

Ok, I've since played up to where Urby was complaining about and I disagree.
1. The instakill tank wasn't instakill, I easily avoided its blasts by beelining for a nearby cave. There IS another problem here, though. A soldier operating a mounted gun did not shoot me. When I killed him, HIS GUN STARTED SHOOTING.
2. The crate hole with the battery and supplies that cannot be jumped over: there is one AND ONLY ONE breakable crate there, but they all look the same so good luck bashing around.
3. There is a cave area where you must advance under cover from two autoguns shooting at you, but right after that is a cliffside jumping puzzle. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GAME ASSUMES YOU DIED AND FADE TO BLACK when I jump on the third ledge... ok wtf
Final Judgment: This APPEARS to be a decent mod and has challenging gameplay, but some bugs show up later in the game and make it seemingly impossible to complete. A shame.

Yeah heh, not a fan of 'universities' that are actually several random buildings spread over the city. As if there wasn't enough space in the city for a campus.

I never understand people being hyped about stuff. Other than the feeling of wanting to play something immediately after buying it, I really don't see much point in having spent your time eager in anticipatipon for something that has yet to be completed. This mod has many years of hype surrounding it during development, but I just think that any sort of eagerness to try out this mod should only be felt when it actually gets released.

the anime is called sword art online basically this mad scientist/game programmer removes the log out function from a virtual reality headset MMORPG video game and thousands of ppl died to monsters from level 1.
However by episode 10 it appears as they main characters (one being around 14 years old apparently) had an explicit R-rated encounter. All of this occurring in an MMORPG video game. Maybe the programmers got a bit carried away with this stuff. Unfortunately, the novel version of this seems to be even more detailed bordering on porn, so whether this show was really about a video game (or something else) is difficult to establish.

Suggestions:
Absolutely guaranteed weekly media updates. They won't be as high quality as the stuff we've been putting out (purely due to volume of work) and would be more like little sneak peaks at progress like the cliffs I posted in the WIP thread recently. Quality vs Frequency of updates.
A: Frequency of updates will keep you at the top of the mod page list, which may guarantee a small amount of new visitors. However, there aren't many visitors to begin with; if you have 600 ghost watchers who don't click the watch button, they prolly won't do it even if you update once a day.
Objectives such as 600 watchers and we release all the RMFs upon release. 700 watchers and we release our textures under creative commons for anyone to use and modify, including high res originals etc etc.
A: This is pointless. Some people will make blank accounts to watch just so they can get the rmf's. Heck, it has happened on moddb that people will make multiple accouts JUST TO TROLL A CERTAIN MOD.
I understand that people like to see their work being tried out and all, but ultimately it should be your passion (however much left there is) that makes you want to finish this mod. Also the mod is nearing completion anyway so that should be another incentive. Alot of people, myself included, are 'ghost' watchers that knows almost everything going on in goldsrc mod development, but do not post many comments or watch anything. If it makes you feel better, know this: Once you release your mod, it will prolly get spreaded to the Russian, Czech, and French mod communities without you knowing. You will very likely have a larger audience than moddb numbers indicate. So rest assured that more than 400 people will play your mod. It's just that you won't ever get to know about it unless you search around. Good luck!

Hmm, alright. I'm doing this currently for the Planetphillip replay event, but if anyone is interested, I'll do random mod playthru's as well (or any single player maps you have if you'd like)

I ventured this a long time ago, but tf2 has basically become a giant billboard made by valve so other corporations can advertise or do promotionals using TF2 as a medium. Why doesn't most of the community stuff get accepted? because TF2 is merely advertising other games like skyrim or shows like robot chicken. Therefore, if you are a big corporation seeking to advertise to a large market of gamers, TF2 will be at your service.

Reminds me of a Nancy Drew game. Forgot whether it was a parrot or parakeet. Anyway in that game I ended up getting nancy eaten by a piranha plant. So I think u should name your parakeet 'Nancy'. Not really saying it will get eaten by a piranha plant or anything like that. Not a all. Ok, maybe a little.

Ah, I love ct too. But I also remember someone getting sued by square over making a mod AND someone else also got sued for making a 3D remake. That was. Really sad.

Hey, ever played Operation Black Thunder? I remember it having a shotgun that is prolly just like what your shotgun is doing now! Feel free to check it out.
Anyway glad the mod is still up and gunnin'. If you need map ideas I can recommend some space colony themed mods for you to try out. Nice modelling so far!
