It comes in on fiber, hits a CPE and the handoff is a 1000Base-SX port, that feeds the routers. Aright so servers are good to run anything, When i get back to the data center this week i will get a server ready, should i go the linux route or windows, any suggestions? After i get it setup, we can figure out the administration part of it.

The server I am gonna use it a HP DL360, 80 GB of HDD Space(RAID-Mirroring), 4 GB of RAM, and Dual 3.06 Ghz Xeons, Has 1 1000Base-SX optical connection back to the switch. Internet that this server is on, is a business class Comcast connection, so speed should be fine, but if it is an issue, I will switch it over to the level3 connection. So as far as games, what will this support? And here is a webcam of the place http://cam1.dothackinc.com, dont mine the mess, getting ready to do some landscaping outside the building. CSGO, is counter strike global offense, is that a steam game? or WON type game.

This is the switchgear this server will be on.

Hello, Its been a while, but I will get right to it. I have a small datacenter here in New Hampshire, and I got several servers sitting around doing a bunch of nothing. If I was to setup a dedicated game server for everyone here at TWHL, what would you wanna have? Source? Goldsource? etc etc. And would anyone be willing to manage it? I know howto setup a dedicated server, but besides that i do not know how to do much more with it, like adding game status pages and stuff like that. Im thinking I would setup a server with a clean install of linux or windows 2003 server, and just give some people remote access to it, who are willing to manage it. What do you guys think?

I drink about 4 cups of coffee a day, morning, noon, then late afternoon. Morning coffee is black as hell, with one spoon of sugar. Noon time coffee is normally black as well, sometimes a little half and half. Then late afternoon coffee, has one sugar and a bit of half and half. I prefer my black coffee to be so black it makes your eyes bleed, so a Dark Roast or a Rich Colombian Roast. Tea with honey is always good to.

Ok, thanks for all the input, I am looking into no-ip right now, it looks good....My resolution is 1024x1280, it looks fine on my computer. But on say 800x600 it gets messed up, but not on all computer that will happen. So i guess i will just deal with it for now, And the freewebs host will be going soon, I just got Cable internet, so i am going to get my old poweredge server running and i will host it myself.

I just redesigned my website, it is hosted on freewebs (yah i know they suck). On some computer the navigation bar is not on the left side like it is suppose to be, insted it will be above the pictures and in the middle of the page. Does anyone know why this would be happening. I just downloaded the hlds binary file for SuSe Linux 9, and whenever i try to run it from a root windows or any shell it says "bash: /bin/hlds Permistion denied" I Cheaked the file permistions and I have exec rights but it gives me that message every time, Does anyone know whats wrong?

Did you stand on an isulatted pad when you drew that arcs to you?
Becuase if you dident then thats why you got zapped. When I draw arcs from mine I stand on a rubber matt. So it dosent flow through me. It just travels over you skin.

Yah, I have done that same thing, the compaciter in the camera can rellay give you a jolt, the compacitors in the camera are also used in tasers and stun guns.

Mine is:
Primary coil 13 turns or copper tubing
Secoundary coil is 900 turns of magnet wire
the compacitor bank is made of 6 homemade beer bottle caps
and the spark gap is a vacumm moter cooler rotery gap

I got it from a local computer surplus store. And yes it was $100US.
It was new in the box. but they don't come with any warrenty. I belive the problum is the backlight. so am going to bring it to a repiar shop unless any one can tell me how to fix it myself.

I just bought this NEC MultiSync LCD1760V flatscreen monitor for $100
When i turn it on I can see the screen fine but after about 30 secounds it gos dark and i can basrly make out the desktop! does anyone know whats wrong?

I just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Home... The install went fine and all. When I start it up it works fine. But when Try to connect to the internet (dial-up) and activate Windows XP. It comes up "Systems ShutDown" and it says i have 30 seconds to clsoe stuff out adn save my work. It allso says some thing about "c:windowssystem32lssas.exe terminated with -23003240324".. It sounds like a virus but I am not sure. Oh by the way i reinstalled the after i got the messege the first time and it did the same thing..

I was at school chating with winpopup with some of my freinds. Then some how I sent my messages to all the computers in the school. Then like all the tachers stared to freak out. I was called down to the office and they suspended me for 2 weeks and called the police and said I "hacked the computers. And that I was trying to change my grades."
