lol, isn't it funny how the most barbaric methods work so well? I had this tv that wouldn't turn on I tried everything fidling with the wires, pushing all the buttons, this went on for about 30 minutes. I then got so frustrated I just gave it a whack with the remote on the side and presto!! It came to life!!! The next day it was dead again but wacking it didn't work so we got a new one!

Overall, not bad. Good only for small games, I found it very simple yet violently fun!!! I didn't like the fact that there was only one way to go up and it was right out in the open so when I play with bots I get shot in the back all the time while tring to get in.

Very good but rather bland texturing, every area loos the same.

Another symettrical map but there is no cover in the outside areas so players will not want to cross them for fear of snipers.

Design 3/10
A good design but I really didn't feel like I was having fun playing this map, I was just running around killing stuff.

Ambience 6/10
Really lacking in ambience but the lighting was pleasant.

Map Skill 9/10
A solid piece of work but I really didn't like the glass doors, they kind of stood out like sore thumbs.

A very effective use of blues and greys, looks absolutely great.

I felt that there wasn't enough cover for players up on the higher level so that kind of discourages it's use, otherwise a very even-steven map.

Pretty basic and common design but it was still done properly.

No sounds but the lighting was well done and added some life into the map.

Map Skill 8/10
While there are no errors that I could spot, the shapes were really basic and uninspired.

I found it way too unstable so I didn't play it. Sorry, but when you spawn in a map in the void it is no good and also maps that replace original Valve maps are a big no-no.

Seems a bit of a jumbled texture mess but all the dark greys, blues and browns go well.

Team Balance 7/10
The bomb site is a little hard to defend as you can't get a very good line of sight to it and the positions you can see leave you very exposed.

Design 8/10
Following no design I have ever seen, a very appealing surreal map. While really more of an fy map, the bomb really adds that little bit of urgency to it.

Ambience 4/10
Lighting was a bit too drab to my liking, no sound either.

Map Skill 10/10
It is well built and I can't pick on any mistakes, a very nice map.

A very fun map best for a small server. Although it is a bit of a real/sureal map it is still quite appealing for a little while.

Very nice looking series, textures were applied suitably.

Entity Placement 8/10
All inside areas were superb and zombie placement was effective but not overdone. The outside area with the grunts tucked well away was perhaps a bit heavy but was able to be done. Cutscenes were passable.

Design 7/10
Aside from being quite linear, the concept was good although you don't feel it enough at the beginning.

Ambience 9/10
Lighting was a bit bland outside because of the simple architecture but I really loved the second map and there was plenty of ambience, music was cool too.

Map Skill 7/10
Frankly average, especially the outdoor areas. Inside was more appealing but still a bit dull with the long hallways that lack features. The doors also had no 'lip' setting on them so the edge would flicker with the wall which was a bit of a drawback.

Total 8/10 (4 stars)
While it doesn't look like the Next Big Thing, it's an appealing little series and I look forward to part 2.

Even combat but interesting in some areas and the weapons were really well placed.

Other than being a touch on the small side, it played very well with the multi-level combat.

The lighting was very good but some of the inside areas were not lit very well to me. There was no sound but you really can't hear anything but gunfire anyway.

Overall, the map looks great, I really like it and it looks just like HL2.

This is really unfair. The CT's have a massive vantage point because the bombsite is overly exposed and the T's start outside with no cover whatsoever.

Design 8/10
It was ok design wise. Very simple, this is probably better suited as a FY or FF map, whatever they stand for, as you are more likely to kill the opposing team before completing the objective.

Ambience 1/10
There wasn't any sound and the lighting was bland and boring and other than the sun, came from no discernable point.

Map Skill 3/10
Drab, boring and lifeless. There wasn't even any grass outside. You could climb the hills to see the edge of the map, big thing, the windows were pathetically small. How anyone could shoot out of them I don't know, a bullet would hardly fit.

Total 4/10 (2 stars)
This map is ok, for a FY or FF map, maybe on a GunGame server or something, but this map really falls short of the much more popular CSS castle map "Speedcastle".

Some nice use of lasers and conveyors. I also like the spinning spheres, they were a nice touch. The weapons were a bit heavy but otherwise suitable.

A very effective multi-level arena map. I thought it was quite fun to play with a handful of people.

Again, no sound but the lighting almost makes up for it. Wonderful lighting inside but rather dull outside.

Good assortment of decorative trims and the volumetric fog effect in the pit was well done, I had to actually jump down to see how you did it. Perhaps you could have applied it to the walls as well?

At first glance I seriously thought those rock walls were real! All the textures look great and the custom ones matched perfectly.

Enitiy Placement 10/10
I like the scattered arrangement of the health and ammo. You have regular small health packs but only a few large ones in some areas. The weapons were placed appropriatly and ammo was available but not abundant.

Design 10/10
It didn't feel like an arena, that's a plus, but it has the possiblity of both long range fighting and mini-arena areas where players can get up close and personal.

Ambience 10/10
Lighting felt natural. I felt that where there was light, it was made so it lit enough of the area to allow players to see but still emphisise the fact that the player is in a deep dark cave.

Map Skill 10/10
Solid, plays with the fact that there is a world outside but trying to get there is costly. The rock formations were fantasic and allowed a less 'constructed' feel to the map. Those waterfalls were fantastic and broke up the regular old rock wall.

The map was well textured and looked very fitting for the environment.

Entity Placement 4/10
I was very disappointed by this map. I shot 50+ rockets at each of the turrets but they didn't die. I eventually managed to blow one up but it was still shooting me from nowhere!!! After about 15 minutes of shooting at the turret on the far side of the map the grunts, who had been fighting up on the road, eventually blew up the barrels and I failed the mission. I was really #$%^ off by then and I quit.

Design 8/10
The layout was good except the spawn point was very exposed and often I couldn't make it along the boardwalk before being mowed down by the countless terrorists and endless rocket fire.

Ambience 10/10
This was one of the better parts of the map, well lit and plenty of ambience.

Map Skill 8/10
It was a very solid piece of work but the one annoying problem was the sky was constantly flickering in and out of the void. This means I would aim at a turret and see 5 of them. Really drew away from the map.

The texturing is magnificent, diverse, well spanned and outright flawless.

There are plenty of nooks and crannies all over the map but the good thing is that there are more places to defend from to closer you are to your base which means if you are the losing team, you have a great advantage over the attacking team but if they are captured then they can't be used against you.

Design 10/10
This map is seriously perfect! Different route's to take and well layed out bases that don't really feel like bases.

Ambience 10/10
Perfect lighting, and a decent amount of sound is audible from appropriate places in the map.

Map Skill 10/10
Not one single flaw!

Very well done. There was a good variety of textures but they all kept within the theme of the map.

Entity Layout 9/10
You incorperated every weapon, but the more powerful weapons were harder to find which evens it out a bit. I personally think there was too much health around, making players who run be the hardest to kill, you had health in nearly every room. The teleporter effects were pretty cool as well.

Design 10/10
Very solid design, everything looks euthentic and has a purpose. The variety of combat scenarios are diverse which is a big plus and you used a good amount of props. I find it good that the larger physics props that you can normally pick up with the gravity gun were locked in place, I find this useful to prevent cluttering of a map, making it hard to get around.

Ambience 8/10
The lighting was perfect, bright enough to see but dim enough to cast those wonderful shadows that we all love so much. You only just scraped by on ambience though, there was some but nowhere near enough for my liking.

Map Skill 10/10
I personally think you put a lot of effort into this map and it definately shows.

Each puzzle was unique and while some became very annoying after a short while they were quite good. The only ones I didn't like was the first room, I didn't get why that was hard. The last map, I couldn't do it as I can't surf and I think relying on a players knowlegde of what they are actually meant to do more than the ability to do it is a drawback.

Ambience 8/10
Lighting was solid although plain in some places and there was some nice ambience and structure to the map.

Map Skill 3/10
A lot of plain box rooms, some simple architecture could spruce them up a bit, although the last teleporter room was very good.

Total 7/10 (3 stars)
I really enjoyed playing this, it was fun, creative and challenging to the point where it was still possible for newer players but immersive enough for experienced players.

While this kind of game in well known, the fact that it uses a FPS engine is quite spectacular.

While it may take some time to grasp the controls and physics, it is really fun and easy to play.

Minor nitpicks here and there but nothing serious. This version has not yet crashed on me.

There is full user customisation with mapping resources and even setting the new graphics to suit your computer.

Good use of textures and not a single error that I could find, except, the glows you created for lights cut off too sharply to look realistic. They should have faded all the way to black.

Weapon Placement 8/10
Very good but way too much ammo and too bunched together. Should have spead it just a bit and the powerful weapons were put together, ie, RPG next to the Egon allowing easy player domination.

Design 9/10
The simple figure 8 design will get boring after long-term play but you made it work and the map seams perfectly.

Ambience 4/10
I didn't like the way you lit the map, very simple and bland. No diversity of light colours and shadows. There were also no sounds! It really ticks me off when I run around a silent map.

Map Skill 10/10
Trims, gizmoes, sticking out bits, plenty of good solid mapping here.

It's a shame I have to give you 4 stars and not 5 (I add scores and divide by 5 = 8.2), you made a fantastic map but those letdowns were quite major. Maybe do it up a bit, see what happens.

A fantastic map. Really looks good aside from a few strange black blocks that seem a bit flat compared to the rest of the map.

It is not cramped for a Flat-Life map and the ledges are very easy to negotiate. There is cover for players and not too many places where the player is over-exposed.

Pretty quiet except for the wind and the constant gunfire!! But the lighting was appealing for some reason despite it being very simple.

Map Skill 10/10
Looks really good but the only thing I can suggest is that you remove those annoying sparks, they just distract you.

The texturing didn't have very much appeal. The range of textures was good but the walls don't look nice and some tanks had a couple of misalighned textures.

Team Balance 6/10
Both teams can be instantly killed because spawn positions are in sight of each other, not a nice way to start as slower players won't be able to get to cover.

Design 8/10
The idea is new and the layout is simple yet effective and this could be a much funner map. And don't use the box method to seal your leak. If you have to, at least make it the 'sky' texture.

Ambience 1/10
Yuk! No sounds and the lighting was a one colour nigtmare.

Map Skill 4/10
You may have put too little effort in this one. There is not enough adequate cover, the walls are bland. The bomb zone has face clashes that make it look nasty and the tanks were in the walls in some places.

Total 5/10 (2 stars)
Do some more work on this, please. With a major overhaul of the actual appearance of this map you can improve it significantly and earn a better rating. Otherwise, you have an idea, work out the kinks and you may have found a successful new game mode.

Fantastic work on the texturing side of it! You used original Half-Life textures and it looks great! Well done!

Ammo and weapon placement was good although a bit too much maybe. The gravity triggers were good and I was pleased to see that they get turned off a some points.

Design 9/10
Overall, well planned out. I could wander around for hours and never really know where I was going. The thing I picked on was the very tight confines inside the facility. There is little room for dodging and when you stumble apon another player it is pretty much as simple as whoever has the bigger gun wins.

Ambience 7/10
Good ambience, some areas were quiet but that was good. Lighting was very effective and pleasant and the glows you used are a great idea. Well done!

Map Skill 10/10
The mapping side was flawless! I could not pick a single error. Only one doorway underground was a bit small but I accepted that as it was a sewer-like area and it wasn't really meant for people to kill each other in.

Great texturing, very nice and suits perfectly. The only mistake I could find is in the corners the texture mirrors onto the next side which looks wrong but this was the only thing so I give you 10.

Very well balanced. Terrorists have a decent chance as there are different routes to take as well as two bomb sites.

A good map. A little bit too repetitive but otherwise good layout and a few interesting features.

To (c)striker, if you mean transport tycoon, then YES!!! Great game but I can't play it anymore as it's not compatible with Windows XP.

Show off some of my really crappy (older) talent. I find it still fun to play with the POD bot.

Also, I am making a CS-S version. much improved.

The black is deliberate. So you cannot see what is ahead, like you would if it wasn't 2D. The bullsquid was also deliberate so that you had some difficulty through the waterworks as a bullsquid shoots at you. Note that the shotgun is very bad for shooting thin enemies (turrets) and small ones (headcrabs)

Texturing 9/10
Again, well textured but you didn't fix those ladders!

Team Balance 9/10
Much better this time around. A bit more cover for teams but the bridge could have used some extra cover as players trying to cross have little chance of making it across alive.

Design 7/10
The layout is the same so not much improvement here.

Ambience 8/10
Again, not much improvment. Adding some point-based sounds like water sloshing in the pool or birds or crickets, things like that really make a difference. Also, the lights on the outer walls near the bridge are really unnessecary.

Map Skill 9/10
Much, much nicer and neater. The sides were the most important change you made. One thing to remember about a map is that the areas you can't get to must look as good as or better than the ones you can. The bridge is good, breaks up the bland middle section much better and those trees aren't solid, you can use an invisible func_wall to fix that.

Total 8/10 (4 stars)
You may have lost and gained some marks simply because you improved in some areas but didn't change/improve in others and when releasing a second version you should try to improve on all bases. Mind you though, you just came shy of 5 stars so a very good effort

Texturing 7/10
Very bland texturing but at least there were no texture errors.

Entity Placement 4/10
There is simply too much ammo and it is unevenly placed. Players who get to the top are basically in control with all the batteries up there and it is unfair for other players.

Design 6/10
This is a very basic design with no real feature to it but it works and it looks neat

Ambience 2/10
No sound - one dull blue light source, not very nice at all.

Map Skill 4/10
While you did a good job on the construction of this map you missed a trigger_hurt when you fall off the skybox so players get stuck down there until they die, which on a map like this will be very often.

Total 5/10 (2 stars)
I had to choose between 2 stars and 3 stars and unfortunately I had to go for 2, simply because it is not a very solid based map, it is not original and it is a killbox. Take this map a little further and see what happens, it can really only get better and use some imagination next time, after all, it is set in space :-)
