I rather liked it. There were a few problems, for example, glass so thick shouldn't break so easily. And as Rimrook said, the vertices don't line up correctly. And the outside corners should probably be beveled off to match the inside.

I liked the Xen plants, it adds an unusual edge to the game when the scenery can attack you when you get too close. 3 stars from me

Try digging up dirt on the dogs owners and then blackmail them into doing something about the problem.

I'm not too adept at navigating my way around social situations, but from what I do know, this is good advice.

We almost got rear ended by a lorry on the motorway the other day because somebody a few cars ahead was driving at walking pace. Luckily the lorry driver was paying attention.

I'm doing an Aeronautical Engineering degree. I'm halfway through the first year. And I'm pretty experienced in SolidWorks, I had to use it a lot for Technical Graphics in secondary school. Although I haven't used it since then, so I;m a tad rusty.

Well done sir! This map is amazing in terms of VM. Basically, 5 stars except for the problems Rimrook pointed out. You might also try setting the minimum light level of the lights to fix the problem with the lack of brightness.

Bappy Hirthday!

Wait... weak as that joke was, I think I've used it before on someone elses journal. I think I've run out of "humourous" birthday" wishes. Crap.

Happy Birthday anyway though.

I was two weeks late for the start of one year because I was in Florida at the time. When I got back, there were no regular desks left in one of my classes, so I had to use a teachers chair and desk that had been left at the back of the classroom. It was very high and the seat was padded. I was very sad when somebody left the class and left behind a spot ast his desk.

Using the teachers utilities can be awesome.

It's not as easy to pedo bait though. And 91% of people will end the conversation in half a second, 8% of people will masterbate into the camera and generally end the conversation before you can press the report button, and the remaining 1% will have a conversation but only because they're cam-whores.

"Yeah, that's completely wrong. Marijuana and shrooms, particularly, are widely reputed as the safest drugs in the world."
As I said; the subconcious mind is not the best for forming cohernet reasoning, you asked why I draw the line, and I answered with my reasoning, or at least the closet to my reasons that I can comprehend.

And as for me saying that people should stay off drugs, I said not to take my reasons for it if they don't make sense or don't apply to you; plenty of learned men and women have found reasons not to. Take their reasons. And I accept I can't change other peoples opinions and probably won't, but I still hold to the fact that the advocating of drugs both saddens and disturbs me.
Commented 14 years ago2010-02-13 17:17:22 UTC in journal: #6396 Comment #49020
Ah. I don't know. Maybe it's because the 'next step up' in my eyes is cigarettes, something which I know of no positive effects for. And they are legal, so any illegal drugs must be somehow worse, right?
And I know that that's not sufficient reasoning, but that's the best reason I can give. I am subconsciously repulsed by the idea of drugs, so it seems to be my subconscious doing the reasoning. And I suppose we all know that the subconscious mind isn't the best for proper reasoning.

Although ultimately, I'm not sure why I draw the line there. A few years ago, there wouldn't have been a line; I would have nothing to do with drugs in any way, shape or form. It seems to be in recent years that with the increased pressures to take in alcohol for social reasons that my definition of acceptable and unacceptable has wavered. I'm annoyed at the fact that I've succumbed to peer pressure in this regard, but I suppose I should be proud that this is the only time I have. Everyone I know has caved in at some time or other, almost all the time within the first years of them entering secondary school. It took me until I was in college to alter my view of alcohol from 'bad' to 'necessary evil'. And I know that I'll never find cigarettes acceptable in any way, they disgust me in ways that probably aren't healthy. I remember once, one of my friends found a box of cigarettes and pretended to offer one to several people. When it came to me, it took all my self restraint to stop me punching him in the face and disowning him as a friend there and then, and actually find out what was going on. It's more likely that I'll become President of the United States despite never having lived there than it is that I'll ever start smoking. And that's only one step up from alcohol in my opinion.

So maybe my somehow institutionalised seething hatred of drugs makes my viewpoint somewhat skewed; maybe I'm not the best person to take advice from in regards to drug habits. But still I implore all of you, don't take any drugs, unless you positively have to. There are many people who have given reasons not to, so listen to them, if you see my reasons as being too extreme.

Just don't take drugs.

Because it is legal, and in Ireland there seems to be literally no possibility of having any kind of social life past the age of fifteen unless you're ready to go out to a pub most nights a week. Even then I tend to order non-alcoholic drinks when possible. I guess I just hate the effect it has on people. I value intelligence and the ability of proper fore-thought and planning, something alcohol seems to rob people of. And all of the 'positive effects' are attainable by just staying awake a few days straight, something that tends to happen with me pretty often.

Also, another factor may be the fact that all of the scumbags in my school started drinking around the first year, and these are the people that I loathe. I suppose I just wanted to distance myself from them as much as possible. As a result, I'm pretty sure that by the end of sixth year I was the only one out of about 150 students who didn't regularly go out drinking.

[Edit] And fuck you irony. As I was writing this I accidentally knocked a glass of scotch into my packet of crisps. I don't particularly want to consume any more alcohol than that sip of Vimto-Scotch that I had before, but I'm bloody well starving. God damnit.

All I can say is that you shouldn't need any drugs anyway. Don't continue down this path of self destruction, I've seen this happen to too many good friends and basically all that results from it is bad.
Just... Just say no to drugs, as cliche as that statement is.

Every country I've been to, enough people speak enough English for you to get by. And generally words in european languages are similar enough to English for you to get the gist of what they're saying.

I don't see how that's a problem. It's cheaper than a proper supercomputer, and the experiment probably isn't important enough to use a real supercomputer that might be needed for something else. Plus, the technology that they're researching could have quite a lot of applications.

I took a ghost photo yesterday to show how it can be faked. My brother was taking photos of the moon with his fancy new camera, so I set the exposure time to thirty seconds, pointed it at the house for the photo, and stood in front of the camera with a light shining on my face for the last ten seconds of the exposure. It was rather creepy, I'll upload it if I can get it from him.

I remember all those years ago when I first saw alien. I had a dream that night that me and my friends were going home from school and an alien showed up and killed them all. Tore one of their heads clean off, and for some reason there was no blood, and the flesh in his neck stump looked like cooked fish.
