lol yeah, unfortunatly i need to play with 3 other people and controllers. Just not as conveniant. But i do have some of the Gameboy and snes emulators. FF tactics for gameboy rocks

lol, random, yes, i know. Im looking for mario party 3 for 64. Ill Trade a different 64 game or two, or possibly a PC game (Morrowing with both explansions or something). BUt it you have it and dont play uit anymore, just lemme know and we can figure somehting out.

Say i have a cube in the middle of my map. I angle my environment light say to -55, the 2 walls the light hits are fine, but the 2 opposite sides are pitch plack. How would i make it so its not all, black, and still has some light to it (assume this is a very big cube :) ) without using other light entitys to shine on it. Relatingly, how do i make it so the shadows cast are less drastic

i cant get my trigger hurts to move with the parent train... or even hurt at all. set it all up and what not, but not noticing anything. pretty straight forward entity too.

also, if i wanted something being pulled behind it (a bar structure), i wiould us lenght contraint right? already got the rop on there.

Heres my ideas: Get a crane, have it drop its magnet wherever, the bar thing, misc. explosives, and an odd idea, dunno if it would work: You know those gumball bachines that when you guy it it goes through the sequence of rods having it run all of the place...? id like to have a button activate a barrel being deployed on a track that rolls it to key spots. sure, people would just shoot it, but i think itd be neat.

k, i have some sniping spots for dm that are kind of high, and id like to have traps around it for people to shoot to kill the sniper. I like the type like in Hl2 where you shoot the platform and the bar has cables on each end and it swings down and htis everyone. BUt, for DM, i need it to be resetable? any ideas? doesnt need to be this exact type (explosive barrels that drop, etc). also, how do i make the explosive barrels respawn?

I have my light_environment straight down, and i want the vertical walls to be light as well, whats the best ways of doing this? i dont want to do the "Min light" or whatever for every brush. Can i do a couple of those lights at -89 degrees?

Anyone have an example map for a train (using the prefab trains they use in the single player). Just need it basic- in and out of level (for DM)

My Camera isnt showing me, but everything else is working fine, just not players.

Help is appreciated :) thanks

hm.. i rebuilt all the walls, cieling, and floor (actually took everything in the map and put it in a new setting, minues the exterior walls, ground, and ceiling) works fine now.. Swhatevs

I only map with HLDM, the danza icon was in lockdown, which is just HL:s, so that'd makew sense

What are Cubemap entities about and the otehr things.. i cant igure it out lol. Also the one whose image is the fonze. I look at lockdown to get some ideas on how to do stuff and whatnot and see them everywhere... cant figure it out :)

If those dont help i can provide the map files as well. It is coming out of the Sky section (normally was a flat cliff wall, but was dinkin around seeing if anything would work).

workgin with my map, i tested a few things, didnt like them, and deleted them, back to how it was. compiled and tested, but now there is a large rectangle "shadow" that goes over t he ground and a building, i can see through the building where this shadow falls and i kind of go in/through the ground that the shadow hits. I tested removing things and it is becuase i have a large wall on the side of the map it is coming from (the barrier of the map). also when this happens many of my prop_statics dont work either. the "shadow" doesnt fit the walls shape or anything, and the environmental lighting is going straight down.... i tryed changing the texture of the side wall to sky, and vice versa, nothing helps... any ideas?

if you make one and shift+drag each it should all break seperate. i take it you madea bunch and highlighted them all and went to breakable? =D that will make them act as one no matter what. shift drag or individually (90% sure)

found i had a ragdoll something or another entity which made the map not run, BUT it compiled and nothing found it wrong, which is why for some reson it made everything go haywire

can someone please explain these entities for me?

detail vs wall
lookdoor
walltoggle
cubemap

then some other questions-
Made a wall with textire skybox (like you did in hl1 for skys [i think] )
and it shows "skybox" =D

what entity acts as a hinge? as in freeswaying doors and whatnot. in my testing map i just made some =D

How come with my spotlight if a door gets in the way it doesnt effect it?

How come myphysbox or whatever wont change lighting?

lol. im having trouble just getting mine running. could map basic maps for hl1/c, but for some reson i cant get it to go, no leaks or anything (under me thread). But i mean if hes a new mapper just completing a decent sized map is an accomplishment. And something like that could take literally 3-4 times longer for a newer mapper than a veterine

Fatal error- Mountfilesystem (206). Mountfilesystem(numbers.....) failed with error 15: cache read failure. errno 16 "permission Denied"

First map for hl2 (just testing it)

Tryed setting hammer for hl2 and dm, and when i go to run map it compiles ok and starts the game up, but just says "loading" in corner forever

When i go into dm and go to create server and select the map. halfway through it crashes and says something with lik 0X485674 and 0x84563 cannot be read or found or soemthing like that

If i start a server with a different map and change to it it does the same thing. help!
