Is it a crime to not carry ID in your country? Nothing like that here unless you're driving or buying alcohol and so on... Does your country enforce a curfew time for young people or something?

I guess you were going to catch the bus and you had no wallet. Fare evasion is a crime!

For my two-monitor-using brethren out there, check out an awesome bit of software called DisplayFusion. It adds a Windows task bar onto all your extra monitors, so you can see which windows are on which monitor just by looking at the task bar. It's almost criminal that Windows doesn't have this feature built in.

We're planning on a 1024x1024x1024 full compo in the near future. Don't steal our thunder :(

If you bothered to, you know, just load the damn Steam store, you'd see that Portal 2 is $7.50.

Be sure to keep a backup of your SSD, I hear that they have a fairly high failure rate after 6-12 months of use.

Also, Europeans are weird! Conform to the rest of the western world already!

Man, you Opera guys never shut the fuck up about your goddamn browser. The problem with Opera is that everything it implements is half-assed, and just adds bloat. Email client, content blocker, a goddamn bittorrent client, and even a full fucking web server! At least with Firefox you can choose which bloat you want to add.

The popular Firefox add-ons like Adblock Plus, Flashblock and NoScript are very well made, too - they cover far more than Opera's half-assed implementations. Opera has only a tiny share of the browser market, so their plugins are far less mature.

Chrome is okay, but again, the Firefox plugins are much better simply because it's been around for longer. If only Firefox didn't keep breaking add-ons because of their stupid version number thing :P

It is? Okay then, let me reupload it. It's not meant as an epic fail image, it just reminded me of that scene in the Simpsons.

Note that while the content of this tutorial was written by Stojke, I have HEAVILY edited the text to make it more readable. I'd fix the typo in the 3D screenshot (it says env_laser instead of env_beam), but I'm too lazy.

Thanks guys.

@Daub: The commander idea is something that could only be set up in a competitive or semi-professional environment. The game wouldn't need to do anything official, just one extra player on each team who isn't actually playing the game (or playing it but not participating in the action too much) who is constantly talking with the whole team (or squads or whatever), organising the attacks and whatnot. Of course I don't think anyone would actually do that, but it's fun to think about it.

I actually didn't get the texture popping issue that Urby and the rest of the internet seems to be reporting. A bit of screen tearing at the start, but only because I was looking for it, haven't noticed anything in the couple of hours I've played so far. It's pretty fun.

I believe that your ammo auto refills when you get on your ship. Also, when you run out of ammo on one gun, all the others still have full ammo. Picking up an ammo clip refills all weapons, so it's pretty hard to fully run out of ammo.

If you feel like you could do one of these a month, do you want to pick up the MOTM again? We really need someone (or several someones) to start doing them again...Daubster doesn't have the time anymore. How about it?

Also, I fixed your link. Don't put quotes around URLs in BBCode >_>

Actually, I find work much more enjoyable than my days at uni. Not only do I get do do something meaningful and useful, I get paid for it! It's also very important that you can switch off after you walk out the door. When you're at uni you have to constantly worry about projects and assignments and exams, even on the weekend. That sucks. As long as you have a job that you are talented at and that you enjoy, life in the work force is much better then the time you spent studying.

Seriously though...I hear childbirth is a wonderful process and Rimrook should be so proud of his 6mm baby.

I really gotta say....You know that you could have built the same computer yourself for half the price? Dell have excellent customer service (and their height-adjustable monitors are awesome), but for pre-built desktop PC's, they're way overpriced. The Alienware ones are the most overpriced of all.

Don't know why you guys take so long on the crapper. When I go to the loo, it's all business: Get in, shit, and get out as quick as possible!

I don't have a bathtub (or a laptop) but using a laptop in the bath sounds like it would be dangerous to both you and the laptop!

From what I've been reading, there's currently two main schools of thought on this game: the people who think it's crap, and the people who haven't played it yet.

I prefer AMD's because they change their sockets far less often. I like to reuse my parts in other computers after an upgrade, Intel makes that almost impossible because compatible motherboards are super difficult to find. All my other computers are AMD as well, so if (or when) one of the machines die, I have spare parts I can use to salvage it.

It runs rather nice, too :)

Crysis 2 runs on "Extreme" graphics at a very nice framerate. Hard to tell from a screenshot but here's one anyway!
