Where would i put the wads when making maps for half-life with the setup on STEAM..... I put it in my steamapps/"name"/halflife/valve folder... but it cant find it. and dont say "re-install your regular"... i dont have one... Thats why im mapping under steam. I got it to work for spirit but i cant find out how to get the wads for HL

Arrgh. i would help if only.... MY COMPUTER COULD RUN HL2. :( that really blows.. :zonked:

I read something AWSOME about HL2 for you guys... The dood from valve on a site said that it could be easily coded to run mp3 sounds and music instead of the ANNOYING TO GET RIGHT .wav FILES

the reason i say spiders, is because... once i crushed a spider with my shoe, and then, thousands of little spiders came rushing out and covered the patio. We got it sprayed..... That was the creepiest thing sleeping that night.

Set a trigger, that when you move close enough to the dood, a scripted sequence triggers that makes him walk over to the place with the roof. You set the target on the scripted_sequence to maybe a func_train, with some avelocity, to ,go tumbling down on the dood, and be sure to turn the damage up REAL HIGH so he dies.... and maybe a custom sound that has the same targetname as the train that sounds like a roof breaking... That would work..

That was me that posted that thread...... I was getting into scripted things since i newly switched from TFC mapping. now i know all about it... but WHOEVER PUT "why?" Shove an eel down someones throught, and covering them with leaches, scorpions, and pregnant spiders that place all of their HUNDREDS of eggs inside of you. EWWWWWW that would be the WORST death.
The squirming.
The HUGE spider, humping your leg.
The leaches eating you alive.
The scorpions STINGING you to DEATH
And the feeling of HUNDREDS of spiders, eating you, moving beneath your skin, biting with thier venom, dieing a slow,      painfull,      death.

The MANAGER godly music Leader of the project, who supervises and watches what EVERYBODY makes to work EXACTLY how he visions it.

You should have audio people, who are responsible for making sound and music, AND make the Sentences.txt and create the speech sounds.

Mappers (duh) But also they can request things from other people who do diffrent things.

Modelers and Sprite"ers" They create sprites and models

Graphic people They create the logos, the menue logos and backgrounds, The promo pictures, and anything else that calls for em.

A website dood. Makes the site, and promotes the mod

Scripters They make the monsters in the maps, and tune them to work how the manager wants it done, and uses the speeches that the audio people make.

The Lighters Set the atmosphere and lighting for ALL the maps. The manager tells them what kind of feeling he/she wants for the map. They erase any TEMPORARY lighting that the mappers use to test their maps.

The repairmen! They check the level RMFs they are assigned for ANY problems WHATSOEVER.

The props "like mentioned up there" They set touchups like Boxes, and cups and objects (the modelers make em), ect.

The scripters. They code the FDG and engine to work for the mod (might i ask that it be based off spirit for more functionality) INCLUDING the monster intities (behavior, AI, and set the model uses [that the modelers make....])

and thats about it.....

I think i would be qualified to be a lighter, or a mapper

o, and i mean JUST the scene. like all the buttons and crap. Make limitation to "NO MONSTERS". Because alot of people (including me) dont know how to model, and scientists and barney would look all funky. Just make the interactive scene with detail and all the buttons and $h!zzle.

How about a compo called "make a game". You would re-create a scene from a game (NOT HALF-LIFE or anything else using the HL engine). That could be cool.

Hes meaning the scriptted_sequence to make something like... "Barney goes and hits the glass(then it targets it and breaks). When i asked the question up there. i was meaning, is there a way to make barney walk to a place and make him shoot the player like once or twice..

umm, i dont know how you could make it go to your time. probly cant. and i would go your speed about 2000. it looks cooler.. but you set the friction to 1 and it will start slow

um.. func_wall isnt a texture. its an entitie.. If all fails.. just drag a big box over your map. and if you dont want it to be seen.. then i would suggest, make it a func_wall and set the render mode to texture, and then set the render amount to 0.
