Don’t worry I’ll be safe. I’m no Gordon Freeman but I will do what I can. I also have an evac plan in case it all goes to shit which is more likely than otherwise because I have family to worry about.

People self medicate. Americans work way too hard for shitty unlivable income. I’m literally unemployed and I still have two odd-jobs to barely make the gap.

There are two days a year that does a rare thing. On saint patricks day, Americans choose to be a different nationality and celebrate it. We respect the Irish because they can out drink us.
The other day is Martin Luther King Jr. Day because we know we done fucked up.

Ram: 16 gigabytes of force lightning. Motherboard: One the original slates God's Ten Commandments were written upon. Graphics Card: Eye of Sauron++ on acid and it's a Friday night. Audio Card: a potato chip.
And free Mcafee.
I don't know what I would do with that much power. I suppose photoshop would finally run better I guess. Glad you're get a hot new rig, a lot of games seem rather unoptimized these days.

Gonna drop some truth on you.
You'll be fine. And always remember the golden rule: for every year of education, you need that many years of the real world to undo the damage and learn to be yourself. The 30's are pretty good, you have time, money, and energy to put your life together. As for high school, keep your hobbies as they are but also learn a practical trade like cooking or plumbing. Start aiming for what you want now so you'll be ahead of the competition when you get there. There is no level playing field and life isn't fair at all. You can make no mistakes and still lose. However, people are naturally fascinated by others that do things exceptionally well. Always remember that golden rule too: it'll take ten thousand hours of practice to make it to the world's stage.

Mass scale black outs are fucking scary. No traffic lights makes every intersection really dangerous. There's no stores open, barely any phone or data services. And even worse, looters. Things got a little real.

I have an idea floating about where he player is a type of paranormal entity. Like a specter that haunts unhallowed ground or a spirit that is bound to an object. The idea is to creatively strike as much fear into people as possible, and the more people fear you, the more the legend of you spreads, and the more powerful you become. This is offset by your class's weaknesses, like you hear in all sorts of ghost stories where someone burns bones and casts out the spirit. Just think of all the horror movie references like Freddy and Jason. I think it'd be fun. Thoughts?

Ok, achievements might be cool. Though I would make them kinda hard to actually achieve, would probably involve different game modes like Stomp Only or One Hit Knockout. I always felt weird about achievements being super arbitrary and not amazing to get.

Have to look into the steam thing again, it's been a while. I should use it if it's beneficial, which it probably would be. Final release is far off but the demo will be ready soonish.

Super Matt Jordan is an adventure platformer about a friend of mine who is a pretty cool and misunderstood guy. With all that, it's also about the empirical versus the hypothetical, or in other words, what would you do if you had super powers? I asked a number of my friends this question then pitted their answers and personalities against an incredible challenge "what if someone threatened to destroy your home?"
It is a metroidvania with exploration and discovery. It's also story driven, which I've developed a very in depth system for dialog and cutscenes. Story has undergone quite a lot of work and is still undergoing a lot of changes. It's a big project but it's moving along.
A couple TWHLers are in it, a good number of people are. It's also non-profit and free.

@urby - awesome, I've been taking care of my fam as well. Is The Core still going on? I haven't kept track of anything.
@tetsu0 - modeling is always a good skill to have. For years my 3DS Max hasn't worked, and only recently I learned blender. I'll have to find your Twitch channel, Sunday mornings are dull for me.
@Archie - sup.
@JeffMOD - inspiration is a weird thing. I've been jobesing for some good old fashioned Goldsource mapping lately. I don't have the time, but it made me think of you guys. Would love to see screens of your map.

That was a while ago. All of the kittens lived but there were some scary parts where they almost died. In the end they were healthy and adopted out to some local bachelors.

Urby I made a comment on that indie page. I'll repost it here for ya.
"Been working hard to stabilize my life stuff. So far it's been good, and I have great news. By the end of this year, I will be in a really good position to continue some development on this project. I've been planning things on paper and I've come up with some very outside-the-box concepts I hope people will like. I will need to do a third rewrite of some code but it should be a very quick process. Strong stable code is good, but I'm a big fan of versatility.
I'll give you a hint to something nice: since the first day of mouse and keyboard controls, I've aimed for enemies to be able to fight back adaptively and equally as fierce as the player."

For rendering you want pure processing power and a good amount of RAM. The graphics card doesn't count in that equation at all but it helps with the in-editor stuff. Other than that, you're good.

Advice from Florida, move your truck ahead of time if you can. Also you might need it to evac to your local shelter if shit gets real.
I might steal that isometric evil versus evil idea >:}
